Thanks for the pics. I will answer your survey first. Yes Max will still be doing swimming. My friends all still write me around once a month, which is enough to keep updated on what they are doing. I have not heard from Joe Wandro's Mom in a while, since I got to Brownsville which is surprising. The new 4-some in the apartment is better than the old one. My new companion is Elder Aussef. He works hard and has a good attitude so I enjoy him. He does talk a lot though and you know I do not have much to say so I just pretend to care. His style of missionary work is very similar to mine though so I am having a good time. It will be weird when I go back to living with only one guy instead of three.

 I actually enjoy sleeping on top bunk. I stole one of the good mattresses so I sleep very well at night. President forgot to do Designated Drivers but I drove home from Tacoma and drive on Wednesdays. Turns out I still know how to do it. That is exciting to hear about Clayton leaving on his mission in July. Wouldn't it be funny if Erin came here on her mission? 1 in 405 chance.

 I was thinking today that things are pretty good here right now. We are teaching a family that is really neat who all came to church on Sunday. The father, Jim is a member who had not gone to church in 30 years and just showed up last week. None of his family are members so all we have to do is convert his catholic wife and they should be baptized by the end of the transfer. It is Jim, his wife and 4 kids.

 I am pretty sure I will get my visa when the world cup is over. So that is nice to think I have a date when I will leave. I almost bought some new Ecco shoes today but they did not have the color I wanted. We have not found a place to Skype yet but I will have someone text you what time before Sunday. Sorry. That is all for this week. I am glad you got to go to the temple. I am jealous.

Seattle Temple

Baptism in Bremerton

We went to the Seattle Temple on Thursday, and yes the temple was awesome.  Unfortunately it rained all day and we got stuck in traffic on the way back, but it was still a fun time. The temple was about a 2 hour drive from Brownsville. We took a school bus which reminded me of my days going on a bus with the Baseball team.  I will put some pictures on dropbox. We did not get to see much of Seattle. 

I should have golfed last week but I do not have the swing down and I thought everyone else would be much better. Turns out I could have played but I enjoyed just driving the cart. Yes, Max plans to make another Malone Movie but we will see. It's a lot of work to make those movies so we will see if he is up to it. 

We spent Easter dinner at a member's house who had lots of kids. We had ham, potatoes, jell-o, green beans, and rolls. It was far from a Percival dinner but was good. We ate Easter dinner on paper plates so I thought of Dad when eating it. I will get my suit cleaned this week. And yes I got the photos from Dad's phone, I love them. 

We also had my first baptism last Saturday. There were only 6 people there on request of the person we were baptizing. She did not have to be taught much as her husband is a member and she was just never baptized. It was kind of a strange baptism but the spirit was there and she was so happy. I will put a picture on dropbox. So that was good. 

Not much happened this week except it was a gray week for weather, I hope to see the sun this week. Lots of love from Washington. We also get transfer calls next Saturday but

I am sure I am staying but I might have a new companion so I will let you know next week.

The Masters in Washington

That is funny about Josh thinking he is starving on his mission in Mexico. No, I am far from starving here. In fact I have saved up my MSF I get every week (35$) and I have over 100$. There is not much to spend money on. 

I just walked 18 holes this morning on a beautiful golf course. That is why I am late emailing. My companion played 18 holes with two guys from the ward and I drove the cart. It was a very beautiful day and a very nice course so I enjoyed it even though I did not play. It was called Golden Mountain in Bremerton. 

No I never get to drive the car here. We have designated drivers and I am not one, though I can drive. One person came to church but they're someone who wants to get baptized but will not quit smoking. Not even for five days which is the rule. Everyone smokes here. I went on splits this week with the zone leaders. I went to their apartment which might be bigger than our old house and only two of them live there. It was different and I enjoyed the change of environment. His name was Elder Chicoski and I have gone on splits with him before.

Do not worry about my situation as far as a Visa goes. If I can survive a winter on a bike, I can do a summer here in Washington. I am doing alright. I play board games with the guys which keep me in a good mood. I am still the best in Chess. I rarely lose and am getting better. You (dad) taught me well. I am glad you gave Perci a haircut. We are working with a guy named Thor now we met this week who seems to have a lot of potential. We will probably go to his house with our Bishop this week. Our bishop is a real cool guy who works a lot with the missionaries.

 Our temple trip is this Thursday.  I am excited.

Hello and Thanks for the birthday wishes and gifts!

Yes, I got my scriptures and cookies. We went to all the Saturday sessions of General Conference at the church and went to our bishop's house for all of the Sunday sessions. One nice thing about Washington is the grass is green all year. I got emails from all my friends today so that was a nice birthday "gift". That is awesome about Clayton getting a mission call to Panama. He will love that. I missed that kid a lot when he left Iowa. We had some good times together. You should get his missionary email address for me when you can.

 I used my umbrella some days in Lacey but not here. This Marmot rain jacket continues to save me. Killer bunnies is an awesome game that we sometimes play. I bought those expansion packs on amazon and one of the elders paid me back. No, I never iron my shirts or trade ties, I like all my ties.

 General Conference was really good, and yes I saw that one guy was from Brazil .  I recognized the accent. He's from Porto Alegre where my black friend went. I look very much forward to going to the temple. Maybe I will have a Visa by then.

 Hopefully we will have a baptism this Saturday. A women named Kristine who has a husband that is a member. The missionaries were working with her before I got here and she has been in Hawaii so hopefully Saturday is the day. I am running out of time. I had to write all my friends this week. Wandro is going to Butler. No news on anyone else. Take the dogs to get a haricut. They will be happier.

Hi,

Sounds like you all had a pretty good week. It has been a wet week here in Washington which is not anything too surprising. I am in the car now which is nice but there are things about being on bike that are nice too.  I usually shower last which means I get the least warm water but it helps wake me up. We still do normal companionship study. 

I put some pictures from last transfer and of my new apartment on Dropbox if you want to look at it. I also saw Anne's presentation which I loved! We meet with our Ward Mission Leader on Saturday nights. He is a really cool guy just like my last WML. We have interviews with the mission President every other transfer. Our temple trip is April 17th and interviews are the 18th. General Conference is next week along with my birthday and my 6 month mark so April is an exciting month. 

We were supposed to have a baptism of some guy Elder Poulson was teaching and I helped teach the last couple lessons. He was way solid and about to get baptized until he texted us on Thursday and told us he no longer wanted to be baptized. He believes everything is true but his wife and mother combined against him and talked him out of getting baptized. It's a real shame because he was a really cool guy. Other than that not much happened last week. We found a couple new people to teach and got soaked in the rain. 

I have come to think that a mission is a nice break in schooling to slow down and think about who I want to be the rest of my life and what I want to do. I am glad to be part of this faith and have those examples in my life. We had a fireside last night and my mission president walked in a little late kind of like Maestro Junta always did for Youth Symphony. I thought of the difference between the two men. Both were very well accomplished men who had made a great deal of money in their life and were successful in having a family. They both presided over a bunch of kids. But President Weaver has a strong testimony of the gospel and a firm foundation of principles to live on. And that's what I want to be. Keep praying for my Visa.
